Unveiling ARA's 45th Anniversary Logo
2020 marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the Australian Refugee Association, formally known as the Indo China Refugee Association – one of the earliest refugee support agencies in Australia.
To mark the occasion, We are pleased to unveil a new logo for the year:
From the beginning our aim has been to provide support for vulnerable people forced to flee their countries. Today, we continue that vision by supporting families and individuals with dedicated employment, migration, social and community engagement and youth teams, all working together to provide tailored, meaningful and practical support.
As we move into our 45th year, we look forward to special events such as
Tastes from the Horn of Africa on April 5th, and our annual ARA Oration on June 17th, which we hope to share with all current, past and future supporters.
Many people in the South Australian community have come from a refugee background and made significant contributions to the fabric of the state’s culture. We acknowledges their spirit, courage and intrepidness. And we would like to acknowledge our volunteers and donors - the success of many of our activities and programs is underpinned by their passion and generous support and we cannot thank them enough for their contributions.
Finally, I want to thank all ARA staff for all the incredible work that they do – they are creating a bright future for ARA and I am proud of each and every one of them for their commitment and perseverance.
Everyone involved with ARA should feel pride in what we have achieved over 45 years. While there still much to be done, we take this moment to recognise the importance of this milestone and the important impact that we have made to the successful settlement of refugees in Australia.
Let’s make the 45th year really count.
