We wish to pass on the following information provided by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) that has opened a new portal to register Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents or members of their immediate family residing in Iran, Israel or in Occupied Palestinian Territories.

This portal is for Australian citizens, Australian permanent visa holders and immediate family members who have a visa to enter Australia.

Immediate family members include:

  •  The spouse or partner of an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Young children (under 18 years) a citizen or permanent resident of Australia Dependent children up to the age of 23 years.
  • Parents of an Australian citizen or permanent resident

When registering please include as much personal information as possible. If you have commercial flight bookings please include the details in the Additional Information section and upload the itinerary as part of the registration.

Do not register if you are not an Australian citizen, permanent resident or an immediate family member as defined above.

If you have registered with DFAT previously

If you have already registered an eligible parent of an Australian citizen or permanent resident who is in Gaza with DFAT, please contact consular.incidents@dfat.gov.au.

For all others, if you have an existing account with DFAT, you will need to login by selecting the Login icon on this page and updating your registration. Alternatively, you can use a different email address to create a new registration through the Register icon on this page.

 

Urgent assistance

If you’re in a life-threatening situation, contact the local emergency authorities. Find the local emergency numbers under ‘Local contacts’ in the travel advisory for your destination.

If you’re overseas and need urgent consular assistance, contact your nearest Australian embassy, high commission or consulate, or call the 24-hour consular emergency call centre in Canberra on +61 2 6261 3305.

If you or members of your immediate family fall within the above criteria, we strongly recommend that you create a DFAT account and register your family’s details. If ARA is assisting you with a visa matter that involves immediate family members, please contact our migration team if you require assistance completing the DFAT registration.

Please note, however, that completing the registration is not the same as a visa application nor does is confirm the Department of Home Affairs will expediate the processing of a visa application involving the registered persons. ARA is advocating to the Department of Home Affairs for prioritised assessment of visa applications, including CSP, where applicants are affected by the ongoing crisis.
