29 Jun Extended until March 14: New Land, New Hope exhibition
it was wonderful to pay tribute recently to the people who shared their stories for our exhibition “New Land, New Hope”.
City of Adelaide Councilor Franz Knoll, ARA CEO Deb Stringer and Migration Museum Director Mandy Paul led a ceremony thanking the exhibition’s participants for recounting their refugee journeys from conflict zones in Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia and South Sudan.
Each participant had a special paver laid in their name at the Migration Museum’s Settlement Square.
Thank you Margaret Bako, Achan Mapor, Mohamed Beyan, Yenenu Gabre, Gabriel Atem Lueth, Goitom D Tekle, Yeman Habtemichael, Sheikh Mohamed , Ahmed and Hana for your generosity and spirit in supporting this project.
“New Land, New Hope” commemorates 30 years of refugee settlement from the Horn of Africa region. It has been extended until March 14 at at the Migration Museum. The exhibition is supported by a grant from the City of Adelaide.
