Family Wellbeing Program

The Family Wellbeing Program has a focus on assisting people from a refugee background that are experiencing a family crisis, including domestic / family violence and relationship breakdown. This program is for humanitarian entrants who have been in Australia for less than 5 years.

The Family Wellbeing Program includes the following:
• Personalised casework, advocacy and referrals.
• Information sessions to refugee groups.
• Working alongside community leaders to respond to domestic violence within their communities.

Family and Relationship Counselling

ARA is sub-contracted by AnglicareSA to provide Family and Relationship Counselling Service. The program provides assistance to people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. The service includes the provision of counselling to promote and strengthen healthy family relationships, improve children’s wellbeing and strengthen community functioning.

Counselling may be 1:1 and/or small group sessions with individuals and/or families who are wanting to improve the quality of their relationships. This program is appropriate for people who are survivors of or who are at risk of or who are currently experiencing family/domestic violence or family breakdown. It is also a suitable program for perpetrators of family and domestic violence.

Community Services Support Program (CSSP)

The Community Services Support program is a DCSI funded program for vulnerable Culturally and Linguistically Diverse families.

ELIGIBILITY
• Families can be at any stage of settlement in Australia inclusive of Migrants, Refugees, Asylum Seekers and New Arrival Communities.

• Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities with need of service support concerning family and child wellbeing living in Northern and Western Adelaide.

Building Stronger Safer Communities (BSSC)

Building Stronger Safer Communities (BSSC) is a 2 year project in which ARA will work with identifiedCulturally and inguistically Diverse(CALD)/New and Emerging Communities (NEC) and allied organisations to provide tailored community education workshops around Family and Domestic Violence (FDV). From those workshops, in-depth training will be
provided for identified Community Educators to equip them with the knowledge and resources to respond appropriately
to FDV within their communities.
