Casework – Settlement Grant Program

Casework
Where clients have more complex issues that cannot be addressed by the Help Desk staff they are referred to one of ARA’s Caseworkers who may assist with issues including: housing, education, health, parenting, intergenerational and community problems. ARA has been successful over the past five years in securing funds from the Department of Social Services (Previously DIAC) through the Settlement Grant Program (SGP) to provide casework services for newly arrived Humanitarian Entrants (refugee) who have been in Australia less than 5 years. We also have funding from other sources to provide casework services for clients who have been in Australia longer than 5 years and/or without a permanent visa.

Bicultural Caseworkers
ARA employs Bicultural Caseworkers from a variety of backgrounds. These workers provide assistance to their communities to assist them to settle in Australia. To make an appointment contact ARA on 08 8354 2951.

These services are supported through funding by the Department of Social Services
