The Australian Refugee Association (ARA) provides a broad range of support services to the refugee community in South Australia. ARA is seeking to employ a
Family and Relationship Counsellor
Modern Award Level 4.1 (0.5 FTB)
to provide counselling, group workshops, information and referrals to individuals, couples and families from refugee communities who are experiencing relationship difficulties, including family and domestic violence and family breakdown. The worker will also be a resource for other ARA staff to provide information when they are assisting clients experiencing family relationship difficulties.
This is a part-time position (38 hours per fortnight with flexible work times), which ends 30th June 2017 with possible extensions subject to ongoing funding.
The person we are seeking will have proven knowledge and experience related to family relationship difficulties, family/domestic violence, settlement needs and issues and have counselling and therapeutic intervention skills. Relevant qualifications, evidence of Australian residency or current working Visa, current police clearance, Child and Vulnerable Persons employment screening and a current unrestricted Driver’s License is also essential.
